Well...How many likes did you get? 100? 500? 1000? A million? What do these likes mean, what do they portray?

Social Media The Common Addiction

Me and Rakshith are common victims to this evil scheme. Me and Rakshith struggled in fighting against this, we uploaded and wanted to see the likes we got, then we would go and boast to our friends and prove that we are "Greater" than them. This scheme has got us thinking, what is the purpose of social media? Does it even have any benefits? Well, the answer is no unless you want to make a career out of it. Me and Rakshith would sit for hours on our phones and devices to watch youtube, use twitter, instagram etc. But the funny part is this didn't happen until the hideous covid hit us. Once covid hit us, lockdown started, this resulted in us staying at home and not being to do anything physical. Due to this others were "bored" and spent hours and hours watching and scrolling through social media. The fact that meeting our friends, going for vacation and out for dinner had be stopped, we were left with no other choice but to mindlessly scroll, like and follow people via social media.

How does social media impact our behaviour?

Research says that social media results in us being more stressed and having more anxiety, we result in not socialising with others and straining our eyes. Social media impacts our routine, the way we behave such as waking up early in the morning and picking up our phone instantly, then being in a bad, tired mood and not wanting to do anything else. This is not a good affect, this reduces productivity and changes the way a person behaves. This has been seen by me and rakshith throughout these 2 years.

What is your experience?

Let us know what you have been through and have these incidents happened to you too?
